Portable Water Treatment Plant

SKU: Self contained Portable water treatment plant

Self Contained Portable Water Treatment Plant

Product Description:

We are pleased to present the latest hybrid technology portable water treatment plant which is fully self contained from a power perspective.

This solar powered unit is based on reverse osmosis technology coupled with a unique solids extraction system which maximizes the efficiency of the R/O membranes between maintenance intervals.

The trailer mounted system has the following output capacity which can be adjusted to suit your requirements up to a 15000Liter per hour unit:

WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS?

Reverse osmosis is the finest level of filtration available.  The Reverse Osmosis membrane acts as a
barrier to all dissolved salts and inorganic molecules, as well as organic molecules with a molecular
weight greater than approximately 100.  Water molecules, on the other hand, pass freely through the
membrane creating a purified product stream.    Rejection of dissolved salts is typically 95% to greater
than 99%.

HOW DOES REVERSE OSMOSIS WORK?

The Reverse Osmosis process uses a semi-permeable membrane to separate and remove dissolved solids, organics, pathogens, sub-micron colloidal matter, viruses and bacteria from water.  Reverse Osmosis is capable of removing 98 - 99.5% of the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and 99% of all bacteria, providing ultrapure water for any application.

Coral-i Solutions uses Filmtec spiral wound Reverse Osmosis elements constructed from a thin-film

composite membrane material.  Raw water containing salts and impurities is fed into the membrane

element, and the feed pressure supplied by the Reverse Osmosis system pump forces the water through the pores in the membrane for collection in the product tube in the centre of the membrane element.
Water containing impurities is passed out of the element along the surface of the membrane and is not able to enter the tube.

The incorporation of Reverse Osmosis technology into the process affords us the scope of processing

salty water and therefore acts as a desalination plant. This presents a unique opportunity for coastal

region cities and villages to utilize the abundance of ocean and sea water to supply villages with drinking
water and relieve stress on the already taxed state controlled drinking water systems. These systems are
also highly efficient as they require no external power to run which makes then fully portable and
flexible.

Installation:

Installation allows for the connecting of our equipment to existing pipe work as supplied by the

customer.  Should you require Coral-i to provide additional pipe work, flanges and connectors, a further cost would apply, for which you would be quoted, prior to the work being attended to.

The following items are included in our scope of supply:

• Feed pump

• Anti-scalant dosing system

• Bag filter housing

• High Pressure pump

• FRP Pressure vessels

• Filmtec membranes

• Flow meters

• Control panel

• Pressure gauges

• High and low level controls

• Fresh water flush system

• Interconnecting pipe work

• Conductivity meter

Although our system is based on the broadest possible range of water being accepted into the suction, A full analysis should be provided prior to the purchase of any equipment as additional pretreatment may be required.

Our system has been designed to accept water from rivers, boreholes, dams, reservoirs, and the ocean
but each application could require small changes to the configuration to perform optimally so please
state details of your application in your enquiry so that we can ensure the best possible option.

Running costs:

Every system on the market requires some maintenance and inputs and ours is no different. There are a
few maintenance requirements which include some polymer additive and filter changes at specified
time intervals to maintain the high quality of the water being supplied. We have factored these costs
together to run the 5000Liter per day trailer mounted unit and can advise that the total maintenance
and polymer cost required to run this plant for a 12 month period amounts to ZAR49,500-00. This
amount is required to process in the region of 1,825,000 liters of potable water which equates to around ZAR0-03 per liter (3 South African Cents) which is extremely efficient and cost effective. If we factor in the initial cost of the plant as well then it takes the cost per liter up to around R0-29 per liter for the first year. Thereafter, it starts to come down.
